Hi,
I wanted to uncrop my video before I add it as a media in multiAVCHD, and did the same things in uncropMKV windows as in the transcode window in multiAVCHD, but the outcome is not the same.
I opened first my MPG file in uncropMKV, and the program opened it without errors. Is it recommended to only open MKV-files with uncropMKV, or?
So, just to be safe, I used GSDmux from Haali, to create a MKV from my mpg file, and loaded that MKV in uncropMKV.
I then choose "Uncrop -64", and "Resize 720x576" in uncropMKV, no other settings changed.
The only correct outcome was to uncrop inside multiAVCHD since it made a proper 16:9 video from my 4:3 with 16:9 picture-area. UncropMKV would crop top and bottom (I could see channel logo removed) but it also would squeeze the picture-area in height and add more black borders above and below.
In the console-window when used inside multiAVCHD, it said "x264 [info]: using SAR=16/11".
In use with only uncropMKV the console-window said "x264 [info]: using SAR=1/1", if that gives some clues.
Also, multiAVCHD said original video had aspect ratio 1.333, while uncropMKV said it had 1.25.
