Great. Thanx for your help.

Although I just found out that TS muxing won't support subtitles.

Ok small problem, I had an mkv conversion running last night and my laptop decided to power off for some strange reason. The conversion had gotten up to xvid encode second pass, approx 80%. Is there any way to pick up where it left off or do I have to start again?

No it can't be resumed. If the laptop was gone to SLEEP mode - then it will resume once you wake it up, but not after a complete shutdown.

Ok so I've done my mkv to avi conversion, however, the resulting video seems....blocky. I'm just wondering if I've done something wrong to lose a lot of quality? Log is below, can provide a sample of the video if needed too.

Ignore my foolishness!!!

Apparently VLC player doesn't really like the output .avi file, however Windows Media Player has no issue whatsoever and the results are crystal clear. Any ideas why VLC might be having problems with it? Or is VLC just a bit rubbish?!

EDIT - And now on a secondary attempt in VLC, its working fine.

Computers are strange.

Good evening, sorry to bother (once again) but I've ended up having trouble with my conversion. I've converted an mkv video source using the mkvtoavi gui, and as previously posted, was successful when opening with windows media and vlc. I have since copied to an empty usb and plugged into my blu ray player (panasonic bd60), and although it has picked up the .avi and is playable, I then receive an error saying that the file cannot be played. No reason, no error code, just that it cant be played.
I then downloaded another xvid .avi source and tried that on the usb, which worked fine.

The original mkv source is x264-HAiDEAF, any chance this attributes to the error?

Regards once again,

Dan

I think it is time to add mkv2avi.exe to multiAVCHD package... It got some nice 'upgrades' like ETA and preview... There is no need to download 20-30MBs when it can be part of the whole package with all of my tools:

Current version is 2.3 build 104.

Download multiAVCHD 4.0 - mkv2avi is included in the package.
