Hi Dean

I am using Sony Bravia W5500 and Sony S360 Blueray player.

I am able to convert all my video files to AVCHD ( I chose "for all BD player"). But there is a strange thing.

After the convertion, I copy them to USB disk and also burn to DVD disc.

Some of them can be view by using TV W5500 via USB. Others can not be played with the error message "playback not available".

And obviously, if the file can be played by W5500, it can be played by S360 player. But if they can't be played by the
TV, most of the cases, they can not be played by S360 as well.

In the other hand, 100% of converted files can be played by PC application ( like VLC media player).

Is there any reason that the source could be the problem? such as source video format should be compatible with BDMV or not.

Please help to advise me the straight forward way that I can successful convert all of my video to be played by TV or S360 Blueray player.

Many thanks.

Man

Using [for all bd-players] is not really AVCHD.

Check if those not working have DTS audio. I don't know what format your bravia supports, but if you play using USB you're probably using simple file-playback mode and not AVCHD.

Hi dean

You are right, Bravia TV doesn't support DTS. But when I burnt them to DVD and play on S360 which fully support DTS and they don't work as well.

Can you help to advise which setting I chose to have most compatible to AVCHD products?

Many thanks

To test playback on PC you need bd-player software like Nero Showtime or ArcSoft TMT (not VLC or MPC).

You can create AVCHD compliant discs if you use [AVCHD relaxed] or [AVCHD strict] output modes. Make sure you're using [x] Convert DTS to AC3 option, too.
